The absolute prime window to visit my hometown is from January to March. During these months, the dry season begins, the weather is pleasantly cool, and the water levels are perfect. This is the ideal time because rock pools are at their fullest and most picturesque inside systems like Hang Va and Nuoc Nut.

From April to August, it gets much hotter, which is actually fantastic for swimming inside the cool waters of Dark Cave and Phong Nha Cave.

The Rainy Season Blackout (October to December)

You must be very careful when planning a trip late in the year. Our peak rainy season runs strictly from October to December. During these months, heavy tropical downpours cause massive river rises, and the peak rainy season completely floods local caves.

In fact, deep adventure caves like Phong Nha, Tu Lan and Son Doong become entirely inaccessible for safety reasons. If you visit during this time, you will be limited to walking tours of Paradise Cave, so try to plan your holiday during the beautiful dry months!
