Morning – Departure from Hue

Early pick-up (around 6h30am) from your hotel in Hue city center. Along the route north, the drive passes through Quang Tri Province, where your driver can point out sites connected to the Quang Tri Citadel (non-stop) and the wartime DMZ area around the Ben Hai River and Hien Luong Bridge (non-stop). A stop is made at La Vang Holy Land, a well-known Catholic pilgrimage site with a church and shrine dating back to the late 18th century.

Midday – Arrival in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park

Arrive in the national park area for a local lunch featuring regional dishes, giving you time to rest before the cave excursion.

Afternoon – Boat Trip & Cave Exploration

Board a boat for a relaxed cruise along the Son River toward the mouth of Phong Nha Cave. Once inside, you’ll walk through chambers filled with stalactites, stalagmites, and unusual rock formations, many lit to highlight their natural shapes. There’s time to take photos before returning to the boat dock.

Evening – Return to Hue at around 19:30 – 20:00

Head back toward Hue along the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, arriving back at your hotel in the evening. Travelers who’d like more time in the area can also ask about extending their stay to visit Paradise Cave, Dark Cave, or Hang En.
