Phong Nha Cave and Dark Cave Tour description:
Combine two very different cave experiences in a single unforgettable day inside Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. This tour pairs the high-energy adventure of Dark Cave with the calm, scenic beauty of Phong Nha Cave, one of the park’s most iconic water caves.
Your day starts at Dark Cave, a cave known for having no artificial lighting inside. Getting there is half the fun: you’ll zip-line over a turquoise river before swimming straight into the cave mouth, life jacket on. Inside, with only your headlamp cutting through the darkness, you’ll wade through narrow, muddy passages formed from basalt and limestone, then cool off with a mud bath deep inside the cave. Afterward, rinse off in the lake, kayak back across the river, and finish with a hanging obstacle course and open ziplines.
After lunch, the pace slows down at Phong Nha Cave, regarded as the crown jewel of the national park and once part of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, where it sheltered floating bridges and served as a wartime hospital. A traditional dragon boat carries you along the Son River and straight into the cave entrance, gliding past an underground river before you disembark to walk further into the cave on foot, admiring rock formations known locally as the “Lion,” the “Fairy Caves,” the “Royal Court,” and the “Buddha.”
